ORHA uses a variety of state, federal, and other grants to provide no-cost housing rehabilitation and repairs to low-income Otsego County homeowners. These programs ensure that current Otsego County residents have safe, decent places to live and preserve the county’s affordable housing stock for the next generation of Otsego County residents.
We match homeowners who need help with the right program for their situation, and then we work with local contractors to get the work done.

While ORHA always has multiple grant programs running at once, they aren’t always the same programs. Our funding comes from a wide array of federal, state, and local programs that target both specific types of repairs and general whole-home rehabilitation.
This list represents the common types of programs we have run throughout our history. Click the button below to view what we currently have available.
Many of our programs focus on renovations that improve accessibility and safety for seniors and people with disabilities.

Common funding sources: Access to Home, RESTORE, AHC
Major repairs can be especially difficult for families to afford. We’ve helped households replace roofs, repair or replace major systems like electrical service or septic systems, and more.
We have also run programs that let us address all of the serious issues in a home at once.
Not all of our work involves major renovation! In addition to the accessibility modifications we’ve made, we’ve also helped Otsego County residents repair or replace windows, doors, stairs, floors, and everything else in a home.
ORHA has helped a number of Otsego County families replace their dilapidated mobile homes with new, safe and healthy homes.

Each program has its own specific eligibility criteria. Below is a list of requirements that apply to most (but not all) of our programs.
