The Cherry Valley Community Facilities Corporation worked with ORHA to transform a wing of the former Cherry Valley school building at 2 Genesee Street into ten affordable apartments for low-income seniors. The project was funded by a grant from the New York State Small Rental Development Initiative (SRDI) grant.
In 2021, the Alden Park Apartments in Cherry Valley welcomed its first tenants!
These apartments were built specifically for low-income seniors. To qualify for one of these units, you must be at least 62 years old with an annual income below 80% of the area median income (AMI).
Some units are reserved for seniors whose income is 50% AMI or less, and some other units are reserved for seniors whose income is between 50% and 60% AMI.
