Otsego Rural Housing Assistance, Inc. (ORHA) has received a $351,500 grant from New York State Homes & Community Renewal (NYSHCR) to replace four (4) dilapidated owner-occupied mobile homes in Otsego County with new, modern, energy-efficient manufactured homes. ORHA was one of only five applicant organizations statewide to receive funding under the Mobile & Manufactured Home Replacement Program (MMHR). ORHA staff will review applications, conduct site reviews, and make project selections based on need, site conditions, and project feasibility. Applicants not selected may be eligible for home repair or rehab assistance through other grant funded programs.

This new program is the second mobile home replacement program in Otsego County in recent years: a 2015-2016 a collaboration between the Otsego County Planning Department and ORHA funded by a state Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) resulted in the replacement of six (6) deteriorated homes. Mobile & manufactured homes represent approximately 14% of Otsego County’s housing stock. Eligibility requirements and application information.
